516 Grayson Parkway, Grayson GA 30017
The Graft is a personal favorite of mine. The very first time my husband and I visited the Graft restaurant in Grayson was on a Saturday night. I was seduced by the all of the mouth watering images that I had seen on Instagram, so I told my husband that I wanted to go there next time we ate out. We did go but we didn’t get to eat anything. You see, we didn’t realize how insanely popular the Graft is in the community nor how small it is on the inside. It seemed everybody in Grayson had the same idea as us so parking was impossible and the wait to be seated was 1 hour. This is by no means a complaint. If we weren’t both starving we would have waited the 1 hour.
Our second visit to the Graft was much more successful! This time we went on a Friday night–around 6:30ish. Parking was a cinch and once inside we were seated immediately. I’m really big on atmosphere in a restaurant and the ambience at the Graft is awesome. It’s perfect for couples on a romantic date, dining alone, or meeting up with friends/neighbors.
Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. When I explained that I had gluten and cow’s milk allergies, she made recommendations from the menu and confirmed ingredients with the chef.
I ordered the red snapper with jasmine rice and pea salad with fennel. It was sooooo good! When I took my first bite of the jasmine rice, it tasted as if it had cheese in it. So I called our waitress over to remind her of my allergy to cow’s milk. She went to the kitchen and confirmed with the cook that the rice had no cheese, only butter.
I don’t know how the cook managed to make the rice taste so cheesy and I didn’t waste another minute trying to figure it out; I devoured every morsel on my plate to point of embarrassment (lol!). If you want delicious, fresh, locally sourced food then you should definitely try the Graft in Grayson.
