Located southeast of the center of Gwinnett County, Grayson Georgia is between Snellville and Lawrenceville and has been growing in popularity and population since the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.
While it is true that you will find a lot of history in Grayson Georgia, such as historical buildings in downtown, and the naming of their streets and schools, you will also find Grayson to be a place of constant development and growth. Yet with the tremendous amount of growth that the city of Grayson has experienced over the years, it has still managed to somehow maintain it’s small town family atmosphere.
Live, Work, and Play in Grayson
Two of the latest developments in Grayson Georgia at the time of writing this page were the addition of the ampitheather and the Railyard, which will be pedestrian-friendly and consists of 32 lofts, a park, and office space. Both of these additions are undergird the town’s effort to bring the community closer together and foster the popular live, work, and play concept.
My family and I personally had the pleasure of living in Grayson GA from 2008 until 2013 and enjoyed it very much. One of my favorite things about living in Grayson during that time was the feeling of living in a small town but with city conveniences. I loved the quiet and slow pace. I also enjoyed having a few shops, restaurants, a daycare, elementary school, and the post office all within walking distance of where we lived.
A major convenience for our family was when our youngest son got his very first job working at Kroger grocery store, which was walking distance from where we lived. This came in really handy since we only had one vehicle at the time.
Grayson Resident Reviews:
I like that you have a little bit of everything near you and not that far away, but there are so many neighborhoods and so many that are being built that they take away the nature of the area. Aside from the parks, which are also quite nice, the absence of nature makes it seem like it will eventually become a city like place and not suburban. As a side note, it is quite a community centered town because we have our own parade called the Grayson Day Parade and the local high school, boy and girl scout troops, and other organizations are featured, which really help bring us all together as a community. Overall it is a nice place if you like suburban areas and a strong community feeling. — Current Resident
“We raised our kids here. The parks and recreation were a great place for us to get to know people. Went to church here and met some amazing people that have been friends for 18 years now. The schools, from Pre-K, Elementary, Middle and High School, were all amazing. Everywhere we go in Grayson, we know someone. Love the community feel.” — Current Resident
